Building a Business Case for Innovative Projects
At the SMP Congress, which was celebrating its 20th birthday with the theme of Innovation, CAPRESE ran a session on Building a Business Case for an Innovative Project.
The objective of the session was to demonstrate that a business case must look beyond internal budgets or external funding sources and tap into the actual value that is generated for stakeholders.

Feedback
At CAPRESE, we always appreciate feedback. We have developed a brief survey that we have made available to all practitioners of LSP, so that we can amalgamate the feedback from participants of all sorts of workshops that use LSP around the world. To complete the survey, you can access it on SoGoSurvey.com using the key "SsRPTSsVsPsPsP"
Our approach
15 participants at 3 tables brainstormed ideas for projects that would make the SMP Congress more efficient or effective.
The initial raw ideas were generated using a human-centric, design thinking approach developed by IDEO.
“Design thinking is a human-centered approach to innovation that draws from the designer's toolkit to integrate the needs of people, the possibilities of technology, and the requirements for business success.” —Tim Brown, president and CEO
Then LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® was used to develop a common understanding of the potential project, what its value proposition was and how it could leverage its stakeholders interest to justify implementation.
